Fresh out of Freo, Spacey Jane think and operate a bit differently. That’s something you’ll continue to discover as the months tick over. Recently nominated for three WAM Awards all focused around their live show and sound, and handpicked winner of Happy’s Needle In The Hay competition, Spacey Jane’s trajectory is on the up.
As most bands do, Caleb, Kieran, Ashton and Meils came together through blooming friendships and lucky connections. A few jams later, the bond was cemented and their debut gig in Caleb's dad's backyard kicked it all off.
In the year that followed, Spacey Jane went from backyards to bright lights, sharing the stage with the likes of Car Seat Headrest, Alex Lahey, The Jungle Giants, British India, and The Stems, along with festival appearances at Wave Rock Weekender, Gizzfest 2017, and WA Day's SOTA Festival. After a year of sold-out headline shows, nationwide touring and a couple bouts of recording, SJ independently released their sophomore EP - 'In the Slight' on November 9. Singles from the EP 'Cold Feet' & 'Keep a Clean Nose' received over 100,000 combined Spotify streams and strong triple J play within weeks of release, further solidifying what's already been a meteoric 2018 for the band."
