Why is Falls VIC moving this year?

  • Colac Shire Otway Council approved the planning permit on 30 June for Falls VIC to be held at a new location at Birregurra, but while the planning permit was approved with council, along with support from the local MP and the broader community an application by a small group of locals was made to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) appealing this decision and a hearing date set for February/March 2023, after the event was meant to take place.

    Although not our original plan, we couldn’t be more stoked to be bringing in 2023 in Melbourne!

Will the dates & lineup be the same?

  • Yep! Falls Melbourne Downtown will run 29 – 31 December with the same lineup. See our lineup page above for all the details including individual playing days.

When is Falls Melbourne Downtown?

  • 29-31 December 2022.

Is Falls Melbourne Downtown 18+?

  • Falls is strictly 18+. All patrons will require an accepted form of photo ID/proof of age that will need to be carried with them at all times. This will be checked throughout the festival and will be required to get through the gates.

How do I get there?

  • The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is located at Kings Domain Gardens, Linlithgow Ave, Melbourne VIC 3000.

    Flinders Street Station is a short tram ride or 10–15-minute walk from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Outside Flinders Street Station, trams travel south on St Kilda Road to the venue.

    Tram stop #17 on St Kilda Road is the closest to the venue. The following tram routes stop there: 3,5,6,16,64,67 & 72.

Can I apply to work or volunteer at the Event?

  • The festival will have limited paid event and bar positions available, as well as opportunities for volunteers both during & pre-post-festival. Applications for work & volunteer positions will open online a little later – stay tuned!

Staff, police, sniffer dogs and security will be searching ALL patrons on arrival. Harsh penalties including immediate ejection from the event, fines and possible criminal charges apply to those found doing the wrong thing.

Banned items in the main event arena include:

  • Glass
  • Cans
  • Illegal drugs
  • ANY BAGS over 30 cm wide x 20 cm high
  • Food or Alcohol brought in from outside the of event
  • Skateboards
  • Boogie boards
  • Milk/bread crates
  • Portable seating of any kind, tables, tents or sun shelters (unless otherwise advised)
  • Anything studded (belts, wristbands etc.)
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Fireworks
  • Fire twirling devices
  • Warning flares
  • Professional cameras, selfie sticks, GoPros and iPads (personal camera phones are permitted unless otherwise advised – restrictions may apply to taking photographs or making recordings)
  • Umbrellas, facial masks (unless required by law or for health and safety reasons) or high vis workwear
  • Water pistols
  • Culturally insensitive items and attire
  • Clothing, jewellery or accessory displaying the name of any gang, club affiliated or similar organisations or any “declared organisation” within the meaning of the Crimes (Criminal Organisation Control) Act 2009
  • Strictly no animals (with the exception of service or assistance animals, such as guide dogs) 
  • Drones
  • Glow sticks, laser pointers, Selfie Sticks, Poles or “Totems”
  • Protest paraphernalia and banners
  • Non-biodegradable glitter
  • Liquids, aerosols or inhalers of any type including perfume, aerosol deodorants, bottled eliquid, eye drops and hand sanitisers (unless otherwise advised)
  • Any other items considered illegal or dangerous

 

Unless otherwise advised by ACM, the following restricted items are permitted to be bought into the Premises subject (if applicable) to security screening at the point of entry. However you may be required to cloak any restricted items at the sole discretion of ACM team members:

  • Empty water bottles
  • Roll on deodorant
  • Small bottles of sunscreen, smaller than 150ml – excluding pump style sunscreen
  • Prescribed medications in blister packs – must be clearly labelled
  • Non-prescribed medication in blister packs – must be clearly labelled
  • E-cigarettes, cigarettes and lighters

What’s the site like for getting around?

  • Getting around the Sidney Myer Music Bowl can be challenging for wheelchair users and visitors with limited mobility, due to the varied and uneven gradient of paths and terrain. The path from Linlithgow Ave to Gate 1 is a compact gravel path on an incline that not all guests find easy to navigate.

Is there accessible parking on site?

  • Yes. Upon presentation of a valid Mobility Parking Scheme Permit sticker, patrons are given priority parking and camping in a designated area. Please email us at [email protected] prior to arrival or ask staff upon entry.

What is your Companion Card policy?

Holders of a National or State issued Companion Card may request a Companion Ticket equivalent to the ticket type held by the person with a disability. Upon approval of request, Falls will issue companions a Complimentary Ticket to the event to accompany a person with disability.

To request a Companion Card Ticket, please email the customer service team at [email protected] and include the following details:

  • Name, email and mobile number for Companion Card holder requesting a Companion Card Ticket,
  • A copy of your valid 2022/23 Falls ticket/s, displaying. Your name / D.O.B / ticket number,
  • A scanned copy of the valid Companion Card being used,
  • Name, email and D.O.B of the carer,

The Complimentary Companion Ticket will be issued via email direct to the carer.

What if I lose something at the festival?

  • Not to worry! If you lose something at the festival, Pixit (FKA Crowdfind) will be there to help reunite you with your lost item. More info on Pixit coming soon.

TICKETING FAQS

9am AEST, Wednesday 14 September. Tickets will be on sale via Moshtix and Ticketek (Single Day Tickets only).

All remaining FALLS Birregurra Camping Tickets will be automatically refunded from Thursday 29 September 2022.

You will receive an email notification from Moshtix once your Camping Ticket/s have been refunded. Please allow up to 7 business days from receipt of this notification for the funds to return to your account.

If you are unable to see the refund in your account 7 business days after this notification, please contact your financial institution before contacting Moshtix.

If we are unable to process your refund (for example, if your card details have changed) Moshtix will email you directly with further information.

What are my Buy Now Pay Later options:

Why does my LatitudePay account say I have a $0 limit, or why does my LatitudePay account say I have insufficient credit available?
